CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL, ACCEPTANCE, REJECTION, AMENDMENT, AND/OR POSTPONEMENT OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE REQUIRED AMOUNT OF CASH SURETY FOR DEFERRAL OF PAVING, DRAINAGE AND SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS FOR TRAILWOODS WEST ADDITION.

BACKGROUND: City Council, at its meeting of December 8, 2020, approved the final plat and program of completion of public offsite improvements for Trailwoods West Addition. Also, City Council approved deferral of street, drainage and sidewalk improvements for 12th Avenue N.W. in the amount of $283,227.20.
DISCUSSION: An amendment to the required amount of cash surety has been submitted to the City. It has been determined that a reduction of the requirement of cash surety should result since errors were made in the engineer’s estimate for 12th Avenue N.W. paving improvements. The estimate for excavation and grading contained all of the property (10.48 acres) of Trailwoods West Addition rather than 12th Avenue N.W. right-of-way. Instead of $130,000 it should be $10,000. As a result, an agenda item has been prepared for City Council’s consideration.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Based upon the above information, Staff recommends that the amendment be approved.
