CONSIDERATION OF THE ACCEPTANCE OF DONATIONS IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,755 FROM CITIZENS AND MEMORIALS TO BE USED AT THE NORMAN ANIMAL WELFARE CENTER.

BACKGROUND: 27 seven individual donations from multiple memorials have been received during the month of February 2021. In accordance with City Code, Section 8-111, any donation in excess of $250 must be accepted by the City Council. This item is being brought forward for that purpose.

DISCUSSION: These private, unsolicited donations are for the care of animals at the Norman Animal Welfare Center. They were provided by mail with no stipulations or requests for a specific purpose other than the care of animals.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that donations totaling $1,755 total donations be accepted and deposited into the Miscellaneous Revenues / Contributions / Donations / Animal Welfare account (10-22431) for distribution at a later date.
