INFORMATION:  Due to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the President of the United States has issued an emergency declaration for all states, tribes, territories, and the District of Columbia and the Governor of Oklahoma has issued an Executive Order for all 77 counties which both include guidelines for avoiding gatherings in groups of more than ten (10) people.  The Municipal Runoff Election was scheduled for Tuesday by Resolution R-1920-50 adopted by City Council on October 22, 2019.

The Secretary of the State Election Board has declared an election emergency for any area of the state when a national or local emergency “has occurred or is eminent, and such circumstances could make substantial compliance with state and federal election laws impossible or unreasonable or could disrupt voter registration, voting, the tabulation of votes or the certification of election results”.  The State Election Board has rescheduled all statewide elections to be held April 7th until June 30, 2020.  The City of Norman has a deadline of March 30th to file the Notice of Election at the Cleveland County Election Board.
