FINAL ACCEPTANCE AND FINAL PAYMENT OF CONTRACT K-1718-120 BY AND BETWEEN THE NORMAN MUNICIPAL AUTHORITY AND FLINTCO, L.L.C., FOR THE WESTWOOD TENNIS CENTER INDOOR COURT FACILITY CONSTRUCTION PROJECT.

BACKGROUND: On 27 March 2018, the Norman Municipal Authority approved Contract K-1718-120 with Flintco, LLC for the Construction Management at Risk Services for the Westwood Tennis Indoor Facility Project. Subsequently, on August 23, 2018, Amendment #1 to Contract Number 1718-120 was approved for the Guaranteed Maximum Price for the project construction. Included in this project were the demolition of two outdoor courts and replacement of them with a new tensile fabric structure covering two new U.S. Tennis Association (USTA) - regulation courts. The indoor court facility includes surfacing, drapes, court dividers, lighting, HVAC system, fire suppression system, exterior walkways and grading.
DISCUSSION: The Westwood Tennis Indoor Facility Project awarded to FLINTCO, LLC (including amendment #1) was in the total amount of $1,475,395. Monthly payments were made during the construction process.
All building inspections have been completed; and a certificate of occupancy was issued in May. On 24 May, 2019, the project was determined to be complete as per specifications, and a ribbon cutting was held at the facility.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that City Council, acting as the Norman Municipal Authority, accept the Westwood Tennis Indoor Facility Project as complete and authorize final payment to Flintco, L.L.C., in the amount of $63,362.48. Funding is available in Project NFB007, NORMAN FORWARD Westwood Tennis (051-9364-451.61-01) .
