CONSIDERATION OF THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $736.80 FROM ANNIE’S RESCUE FOUNDATION TO BE USED AT THE NORMAN ANIMAL WELFARE CENTER AND BUDGET APPROPRIATION.

BACKGROUND: Annie’s Rescue Foundation has presented the City of Norman Animal Welfare Center with a donation in the amount of $736.80. In accordance with City Code, Section 8-111, any donation in excess of $250 must be accepted by the City Council. This item is being brought forward for that purpose.
DISCUSSION: This is a donation provided to the Norman Animal Welfare Center by Annie’s Rescue Foundation to support medication expenses incurred in February 2019 for dogs surrendered to Norman Animal Welfare during a mutual aid request from Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office. These dogs were heartworm positive and required immediate treatment. It is requested by Annie’s Rescue Foundation that the funds be used to directly reimburse the exact cost of the treatments incurred by Norman Animal Welfare Center.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the $736.80 donation be accepted and deposited into the Miscellaneous Revenues / Contributions / Donations / Citizen account (010-0000-365.13-72) and be appropriated and distributed into the Animal Welfare account Other Supplies - Medical (010-6070-441.31-17).
