BACKGROUND: Breckenridge Group Norman Oklahoma, LLC operating Aspen Heights Norman presented the City of Norman Animal Welfare Center with a donation in the amount of $350. In accordance with City Code, Section 8-111, any donation in excess of $250 must be accepted by the City Council. This item is being brought forward for that purpose.
DISCUSSION: Aspen Heights Norman conducted a new resident campaign in the fall of 2018 and pledged a portion of the proceeds to the City of Norman Animal Welfare Center. This is a private, unsolicited donation for the care of animals at the Norman Animal Welfare Center. It was provided by mail with no stipulations or requests for a specific purpose.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the $350 donation be accepted and deposited into the Current Liabilities / Contributions / Donations / Animal Welfare account (010-0000-227.24-31).
