FINAL ACCEPTANCE AND FINAL PAYMENT CONTRACT K-1819-52: BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF NORMAN, OKLAHOMA, AND PRECISION CONCRETE CUTTING OF OKLAHOMA, LLC., FOR THE SIDEWALK HORIZONTAL SAW CUTTING PROJECT.

BACKGROUND: On September 25, 2018, City Council approved the contract to fund the Sidewalk Horizontal Saw Cutting Project by Precision Concrete Cutting of Oklahoma, LLC., Contract K-1819-52 in the amount of $38,850.00.
The area identified for this project was along the arterial roads of West Main Street from Park Drive to 24th Avenue West and 24th Avenue N.W. from West Main Street to West Robinson Street. This area is shown on the attached location map. These sidewalks have approximately 600 identified tripping hazards over a length of 5.5 miles. Locations identified in the project area that exceed two (2) inches in deflection are damaged beyond this type of repair and will be repaired using the FYE 2019 Sidewalk and Trails project to replace those sections. A project location map is attached.
Work began in October 1, 2018, and the project was completed by October 15, 2018.
DISCUSSION: Precision Concrete Cutting of Oklahoma, LLC successfully completed the work in the targeted area during October of 2018 with a retainage payable amount of $1,942.50. During the completion fewer repairs were required then initially identified. The expected number of repairs in the target area was expanded to include repairs south of Main Street on 24th Avenue S.W. on both sides of the street until the approved funding was exhausted. No change orders were required for the completion of this contract.
RECOMMENDATION NO. 1: Staff is recommending acceptance of the Sidewalk Horizontal Saw Cutting Project and authorization of final payment in the amount of $1,942.50 (from Account 050-9407-431.61-01, Project Number TC0155).
