Title

CONSIDERATION OF THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF A FREEZER VALUED AT $880.86 FROM INSTITUTE FOR BUILDING TECHNOLOGY AND SAFETY (IBTS) TO BE USED AT THE LITTLE AXE COMMUNITY CENTER.

Body

BACKGROUND:  IBTS is the managing company that Cleveland County government officials have used to assist with road construction projects and management of federal funds received by the county. IBTS recently hosted a celebration event at the Little Axe Community Center following completion of several road projects in East Norman.

DISCUSSION:  The Little Axe Community Center participates in a weekly food distribution program. Additional freezer space would be beneficial to the program, providing for larger storage of food products prior to distribution. IBTS learned of this need and offered to donate a new freezer for the facility’s use. A commercial grade freezer unit has been located and purchased which has a value of $880.86.

RECOMMENDATIONIt is recommended that the donation of a freezer from IBTS be accepted for use by the Little Axe Community Center
