Title

CONSIDERATION OF ORDINANCE O-1819-3 UPON SECOND AND FINAL READING:  AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORMAN, OKLAHOMA, CLOSING THE PART OF A UTILITY EASEMENT LOCATED IN LOT ONE (1), BLOCK ONE (1), ST. THOMAS MORE CHURCH ADDITION, TO NORMAN, CLEVELAND COUNTY, OKLAHOMA; AND PROVIDING FOR THE SEVERABILITY THEREOF.

Body

BACKGROUND:  This is a request to close a portion of a five-foot (5’) certain platted utility easement generally located within Lots 1, Block 1, St. Thomas More Church Addition, located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Jenkins Avenue and Stinson Street.  The above utility easement is in conflict with a new proposed structure.

DISCUSSION:  There are no utilities within this portion of the request.  The utility easement is in conflict with a proposed structure connecting to the existing church structure.  As a result, the existing 5’ wide by 134’ in length utility easement is in conflict with that proposal.  Planning Commission, at its meeting of July 12, 2018, recommended adoption.

RECOMMENDATION:  Staff recommends approval of this request to close the 5’ wide by 134’ in length utility easement within Lot 1, Block 1, St. Thomas More Church Addition that interferes with a proposed project.
