BACKGROUND: A citizen wants to help the department by donating money for the purchase of a bulletproof vest for an officer.  This citizen has requested to remain anonymous.

DISCUSSION:  As part of our continuing commitment to the safety of our officers it is critical that vests be updated and replaced as they age.  These funds will be used to purchase a bulletproof vest for an officer.

RECOMMENDATION:  It is recommended the City of Norman accept the donation of $850 from the anonymous donor into Citizen Donation (010-0000-365.13-72) and appropriate the funds to Staff Services Safety Equipment (010-6015-421.51-21).
