FINAL ACCEPTANCE AND FINAL PAYMENT OF CONTRACT K-1718-59 BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF NORMAN, OKLAHOMA, AND GRISSOM’S LANDSCAPE NURSERY FOR THE LINDSEY STREET BRIDGE LANDSCAPE PROJECT.

BACKGROUND: The FYE 2018 Capital Improvement Budget includes a project for aesthetic enhancements to the Lindsey Street Interchange at Interstate-35 similar to those done on the Main Street Interchange in previous years. The Park Planning Division created a planting design for the new planter areas which were built as part of the Lindsey Street Bridge ODOT project. The planters were built with all appropriate waterproofing, irrigation supply lines, and drainage structures necessary for a landscape to be installed. Quotes for the replacement were received and Grissom’s Landscape Nursery Inc. was selected to do the work to provide and install the plants and decorative mulch in the planters.
DISCUSSION: On September 12, 2017 the Lindsey Street Bridge Landscape Project was awarded to Grissom’s Landscape Nursery, Inc. in the amount of $39,822.
On October 26, 2017 City of Norman Parks and Recreation Staff inspected the new landscape and found it to be complete as per specifications.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that City Council accept the Lindsey Street Bridge Landscape Project as complete and authorize final payment in the amount of $39,822 to Grissom’s Landscape Nursery Inc. Funding is available in the Lindsey Street Interchange Aesthetics Project (account 050-9584-431.61-01; project TC0045).
