SUBMISSION AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RECEIPT OF OKLAHOMA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY WATER LINE PERMIT WL000014190768 DATED MAY 14, 2020, FOR THE SOONER FASHION MALL WATER LINE REPLACEMENT PROJECT.

BACKGROUND: The Sooner Fashion Mall Water Line Replacement Project installed approximately 7,100 feet of 6, 8, 10, and 12-inch water lines to replace the existing distribution water lines providing service to the existing Sooner Fashion Mall. This project was completed by the Sooner Fashion Mall at their cost except for the 12-inch water line that was an increase in size of the existing water lines. Materials for the 12-inch portion of the project were supplied by the Utilities Department and were installed by the contractor for the Sooner Fashion Mall.
DISCUSSION: As part of the project requirements and per State regulations, a construction permit from the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ) is required. The plans and specifications for the project were submitted to the ODEQ on September 24, 2019. The plans and specifications were approved and the permit was issued on May 14, 2020. As noted on the attached permit, the ODEQ requires the permit receipt to be made a matter of permanent record in the City Council’s minutes.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the receipt of ODEQ Permit WL000014190768 dated May 14, 2020, be noted and made a matter of permanent record in the minutes of the Norman Utilities Authority.
