CONSIDERATION OF THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,000 FROM PETSMART CHARITIES TO BE USED AT THE NORMAN ANIMAL WELFARE CENTER AND BUDGET APPROPRIATION.

BACKGROUND: Petsmart Charities has presented the City of Norman Animal Welfare Center with a donation in the amount of $2,000. In accordance with City Code, Section 8-111, any donation in excess of $250 must be accepted by the City Council. This item is being brought forward for that purpose.
DISCUSSION: This is a donation provided to the Norman Animal Welfare Center. The amount was determined by the number of Petsmart coupons completed for adoptions at Norman Animal Welfare. Petsmart has not restricted these funds, therefore, Animal Welfare staff requests use of the funds to benefit our foster programs.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the $2,000 donation be accepted and deposited into the Miscellaneous Revenues / Contributions / Donations / Citizen account (109-363372) and be appropriated and distributed into Other Supplies Animal Food (account 10660270-43114).
