CONSIDERATION OF THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $500 FROM H. JOHN AND EVELYN F. SMITH TO BE USED AT THE NORMAN ANIMAL WELFARE CENTER AND BUDGET APPROPRIATION.

BACKGROUND: H. John and Evelyn F. Smith presented the City of Norman Animal Welfare Center with a donation in the amount of $500. In accordance with City Code, Section 8-111, any donation in excess of $250 must be accepted by the City Council. This item is being brought forward for that purpose.
DISCUSSION: This is a private, unsolicited donation for the care of animals at the Norman Animal Welfare Center. It was requested by H. John and Evelyn F. Smith for the donation to be used as we see fit, whether it be for blankets, beds, or toys to make the animals more comfortable.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the $500 donation be accepted and deposited into the Miscellaneous Revenues / Contributions / Donations / Citizen account (010-0000-365.13-72) and be appropriated and distributed into the Animal Welfare account Other Supplies/Materials-Medical (010-6070-441.31-17).
