CHANGE ORDER NO. TWO TO CONTRACT K-1314-107: BY AND BETWEEN THE NORMAN UTILITIES AUTHORITY AND KRAPFF-REYNOLDS CONSTRUCTION COMPANY DECREASING THE CONTRACT AMOUNT BY $6,484 FOR A REVISED CONTRACT AMOUNT OF $1,086,525 FOR THE S.E. BISHOP INTERCEPTOR PROJECT AND FINAL ACCEPTANCE OF THE PROJECT.

BACKGROUND: The SE Bishop Interceptor improvements were recommended by the Wastewater Master Plan (WWMP) as adopted by the Norman Utilities Authority (NUA) in November 2001. The current project consists of approximately 5,500 feet of new 24-inch sewer line located south of Highway 9 between Pebblebrook Park and Classen Boulevard.
On February 11, 2014, the NUA approved Contract K-1314-107 in the amount of $1,064,690 with Krapff-Reynolds Construction Company of Oklahoma City for the work. Construction began shortly thereafter and is now complete. On March 3, 2015, the City Manager approved Change Order No. 1 (CO1) increasing the contract amount by $28,319 and extending the contract time by 161 calendar days.
DISCUSSION: Proposed Final Change Order No. 2 (CO2) is the reconciliation of bid quantities to final quantities, Attachment No. 1 to CO2. The change order yields a final contract reduction of $6,484.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends the NUA approve Change Order No Two to Contract K-1314-107 with Krapff-Reynolds Construction Company, decreasing the contract amount by $6,484 to a revised contract amount of $1,086,525, authorize the execution thereof, accept the SE Bishop Interceptor Project, and direct final payment in the amount of $5,432.63 to Krapff-Reynolds. Funds for the change order and final payment are available in the Wastewater Excise Tax Fund, SE Bishop Interceptor, Construction (account 322-9048-432.61-01; project WW0267) and the Sewer Sales Tax Fund, SE Bishop Interceptor, Construction (account 323-9048-432.61-01; project WW0267).
