CONSIDERATION OF ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT FROM THE OKLAHOMA OFFICE OF HOMELAND SECURITY TO PROVIDE GAS MONITORING EQUIPMENT VALUED AT $4,341.31 TO BE USED BY THE HAZARDOUS MATERIALS UNIT OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND APPROVAL OF CONTRACT NO. K-1415-31.

BACKGROUND: Under the Homeland Security Grant Program FY 2012 the Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security applied for funds under the Regional Response Sustainment Detection Equipment Project.  
 
DISCUSSION:  The Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security received Grant #460.110 under the Regional Response Sustainment Detection Equipment Project.  The Norman Fire Department has been made a sub-grantee of the following items to be used on the Hazardous Materials unit.  
 
One (1) Toxirae Pro-Chlorine Datalogging - non wireless monitor, value $434.13
One (1)  Toxirae Pro-Ammonia Datalogging - Non Wireless monitor, value $434.14
One (1    Multirae monitor, includes case, value $3,473.04.
 
RECOMMENDATION:  It is recommended that City Council accept the award of the above listed items from the Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security Grant #460.110 with a combined value of $4,341.31.
