CONSIDERATION OF GRANTING EASEMENT NO. E-1415-19 TO OKLAHOMA GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY TO PROVIDE UNDERGROUND ELECTRICAL SERVICE TO AN APARTMENT COMPLEX LOCATED NORTH OF LINDSEY STREET ON BRANDYWINE LANE.

BACKGROUND: In September, 2014, the Parks and Recreation Department and Public Works Department were contacted by OG&E requesting a Grant of Easement and Right of Way for the purpose if installing underground electrical service to a new apartment complex.
The land in consideration is located at the corner of East Lindsey Street and S.E. 24th Avenue. The new apartment complex will be located north of Lindsey Street on Brandywine Lane.
The new service line will be installed within City of Norman property as described in Exhibit "A" and shown on Exhibit "B" of Easement Number 1415-19, a copy of which is attached. The easement will be 10 ft. in width and approximately 370 ft. in length. This property was originally given as voluntary park land but serves primarily as a drainage way. There currently are no improvement plans for this site.
DISCUSSION: OG&E has prepared the necessary documentation to request the Grant of Easement and Right of Way. Park Planning and Public Works staff have reviewed the proposal and determined that the granting of this easement will not interfere with any current or planned future development of this site or adjacent streets.

RECOMMENDATION: : It is recommended that City Council approve the Easement Number 1415-19, a Grant of Easement and Right of Way to OG&E, and authorize the City Attorney to execute a Right of Way Agreement to that effect.
