EASEMENT E-1718-5: CONSIDERATION OF ACCEPTANCE OF A SEWER LINE EASEMENT DONATED BY RED ROCK LAND FUND, L.L.C. FOR PARK HILL AND RED CANYON RANCH SUBDIVISIONS.

Body

BACKGROUNDThe revised preliminary plat for Red Canyon Ranch was approved by City Council at its meeting of December 22, 2015.  As a part of the public improvements to serve the eastern portion of Red Canyon Ranch, the Park Hill Lift Station needed to be relocated from southeast corner of Tecumseh Road and 12th Avenue N.E. to north of Tecumseh Road and East of 12th Avenue N.E.  The owner/developer of Red Canyon Ranch was responsible for the newly relocated lift station and all connecting sanitary sewer mains/force mains.  The lift station and sanitary sewer system has been completed and accepted.  City Council accepted Easement No. E-1617-28 that covered the Lift Station and sewer system on the east side of 12th Avenue N.E. on February 28, 2017.

DISCUSSIONTo complete process for the new lift station there were several public sanitary sewer lines that needed to be relocated to the west and south.  One line serves the Red Canyon Ranch Addition to the west and the second connects Park Hill Addition to the south.  The lines have been completed and now the easements for each of those lines needs to be accepted by the City Council for the future maintenance of the public sanitary sewer pipe lines.  The following table lists all three easements.

Public improvements were installed and accepted to serve the Red Canyon Ranch future development and the relocated Park Hill Lift Station. The sanitary sewer line easement has been donated by the owners.  The City Attorney’s Office has reviewed the easement as to form.

RECOMMENDATIONBased upon the above information, it is the recommendation of staff that Easement E-1718-5 be approved.
