SUBMISSION OF THE CITIZEN'S PUBLIC SAFETY OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE ANNUAL REPORT.

INFORMATION: The Public Safety Committee was established through Ordinance No. O-0708-32 adopted March 11, 2008. The ordinance provides that the Citizen's Public Safety Oversight Committee shall review the expenditure of revenues collected to determine if such funds are expended for the purposes specified in the Ordinance, monitoring the successful implementation of community policing concepts, and issuing reports to Council.
The Citizen's Public Safety Oversight Committee 2013 Annual Report was approved by a vote of 5 to 1 at the Public Safety Oversight Committee Meeting on February 13, 2014, with the recommendation that it be forwarded to City Council as required by Ordinance 0-0708-32. Member Keith Allen opposed the approval of the annual report and attached is a statement he submitted explaining why he opposed approval of the report.
