CONSIDERATION OF THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $500 FROM SHELTER ANIMALS COUNT TO BE USED AT THE NORMAN ANIMAL WELFARE CENTER.

BACKGROUND: Shelter Animals Count has presented the City of Norman Animal Welfare Center with a donation in the amount of $500. In accordance with City Code, Section 8-111, any donation in excess of $250 must be accepted by the City Council. This item is being brought forward for that purpose.
DISCUSSION: This is a donation provided to the Norman Animal Welfare Center. Norman Animal Welfare regularly reports its lifesaving statistics to Shelter Animals Count national data base. In recognition of Norman Animal Welfare’s contribution, Shelter Animals Count has awarded these funds with no stipulations or requests for a specific purpose.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the $500 donation be accepted and deposited into the Miscellaneous Revenues / Contributions / Donations / Animal Welfare Account (10-22431).
