CONSIDERATION OF FINAL ACCEPTANCE AND PAYMENT OF CONTRACT K-1314-132 BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF NORMAN, OKLAHOMA, AND STREETS, L.L.C., FOR THE NORMAN MUNICIPAL COMPLEX BUILDING A MECHANICAL RENOVATION PROJECT.

BACKGROUND:  City Council, in its meeting of June 24, 2014, approved Contract K-1314-132 with Streets, L.L.C., in the amount of $695,417 for the replacement of the mechanical system in Building A of the Municipal Complex.
 
The scope of project included the replacement of the entire mechanical system with the exception of the ductwork.  It will be controlled by the same Automated Logic Control System currently used throughout the Municipal Complex, which will allow them to be monitored via computer from a remote location.
 
DISCUSSION: The project was substantially complete in March, with final commissioning and inspections completed at the end of March, 2015.  All work meets all bid specifications with the exception of minor punch list items to be completed prior to the release of final payment.
 
Funds were budgeted in the FYE 2015, Capital Budget - Building A HVAC, Construction (account 050-9935-419.61-01; project BG0039).
 
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the mechanical renovation project for the Municipal Complex Building A Mechanical Renovation Project be accepted and final payment in the total amount of $173,854 be authorized.
