FINAL ACCEPTANCE AND FINAL PAYMENT OF CONTRACT K-1415-114: BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF NORMAN, OKLAHOMA, AND MERRITT TENNIS AND TRACK SYSTEMS FOR THE WESTWOOD TENNIS CENTER YOUTH COURTS PROJECT

BACKGROUND: During the Fiscal Year Ending 2015 Capital Budget process, City Council approved Room Tax Funding for the Westwood Tennis Youth Court Construction Project. This project included the construction of a 56’x 114’ tennis court that, with net placement and striping, provides for four youth courts within a single fenced area. Also included in the project was a paved area with shaded bleachers and connecting sidewalks to the existing Westwood Tennis courts.
On 24 March 2015, City Council approved Contract Number K-1415-114 with Merritt Tennis and Track Systems for the construction of the youth courts in the amount of $104,380.
DISCUSSION: During the construction of the Westwood Tennis Youth Court Construction Project partial payments were made. On 31 July 2015, the project was complete and inspected by staff who recommends closing the project and authorizing final payment.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that City Council accept the Westwood Tennis Youth Court Construction Project as complete and authorize final payment in the amount of $5,219 to Merritt Tennis and Track Systems. Funding is available in Westwood Tennis Youth Courts, Construction (account 023-9364-451.61-01; project RT0082).
