CONSIDERATION OF THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,000 FROM FLINTCO FOUNDATION TO BE USED TO PURCHASE A CLOROX TOTAL 360 SYSTEM ELECTROSTATIC SPRAYER TO BE USED TO SANITIZE AND DISINFECT CITY OF NORMAN FACILITIES.

BACKGROUND: The City Manager has received a donation in the amount of $5,000 from Flintco Foundation to be used by the City of Norman to purchase an electrostatic disinfectant sprayer to be used to keep all City facilities sanitized. In accordance with City Code, Section 8-111, any donation in excess of $250 must be accepted by the City Council. This item is being brought forward for that purpose.
DISCUSSION: The City offices have just re-opened to the public after several weeks of being closed to slow down the spread of the coronavirus. This valuable tool will help to ensure the health and safety of our employees and the public.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the $5,000 donation be accepted and deposited into the Organization - Donation account (109-363373) and appropriated to Minor Equipment and Tools, Other (10131232-43699)
