RESOLUTION R-1617-118:  A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORMAN, OKLAHOMA, APPROPRIATING $4,987.28 FROM THE RISK MANAGEMENT FUND REIMBURSEMENT ACCOUNT RECEIVED FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO PAY COSTS OF REPAIRS TO A 2012 BMW POLICE MOTORCYCLE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE.

 

Body

BACKGROUND:  On March 14, 2017, another driver collided with a Norman Police Department motorcycle.  The insurance company (Milwaukee Casualty Insurance Company/ANA UBI Claims) determined the damage to the motorcycle was caused by their policy holder and issued the City of Norman a check in the amount of $4,987.28.  The City receipted the insurance check into Miscellaneous Risk Management (account 043-0000-367.12-64).

 

DISCUSSION:  The appropriation requested will fund the repairs for the 2012 BMW Police Motorcycle.

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:  It is recommended that $4,987.28 be appropriated from Miscellaneous Risk Management (account 043-0000-367.12-64) and be allocated to Police Department, Patrol/Auto Repair-Outside (account 010-6022-421.42-01) for repairs to the motorcycle.
