BACKGROUND:  In January 2013, the Office of Emergency Management applied for and was approved to receive a grant from the Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security to support the Norman Citizen CORPS volunteer programs. The Grant awarded was for $10,992.13.  City Council accepted the grant on April 9, 2013.  In September 2013, the Office of Homeland Security announced another grant opportunity and Emergency Management was approved for additional funding in the amount of $29,742.88, extending the original amount of the grant to $40,735.01 which was accepted by City Council on December 10, 2013.  
 
DISCUSSION:  In April 2014, Emergency Management was approved for additional funding in the amount of $2,250 increasing the original amount of the grant to $42,985.01.  The additional funds are to provide a single purchase of informational materials to be distributed to the public.
 
RECOMMENDATION:  It is recommended that City Council accept the additional funds in the amount of $2,250.00 under the FYE 2010 Homeland Security Grant Program; receipt into Other Revenue: Emergency Management Grant (022-0000-331.13-60) and appropriate $2,250 to Project No. GF0071, Emergency Management/CCorps 380.521 (022-9508-422.30-15).
