FINAL ACCEPTANCE AND FINAL PAYMENT OF CONTRACT K-1516-38 BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF NORMAN, OKLAHOMA, AND JOHNSON BUILDING COMPANY, L.L.C., FOR THE PARK PICNIC SHELTERS PROJECT (FACULTY HEIGHTS PARK, CRESTLAND PARK, AND SUNRISE PARK).

 

Body

BACKGROUND:  On 27 October, 2015, City Council approved RFP Number 1516-7 for the Park Picnic Shelters Project.  Included in this project was the construction of three new custom 20x20 picnic shelters with concrete pads located in three separate parks; Faculty Heights Park (project PR0160), Crestland Park (PR0145) and Sunrise Park (PR0024).

 

DISCUSSION:  The Park Picnic Shelters Project was awarded to Johnson Building Co. LLC in the amount of $112,680.  Two partial payments were made during the construction process.

 

On 21 June 2016, City of Norman Parks and Recreation Staff inspected the new shelters and found them to be complete as per specifications.

 

RECOMMENDATION:  It is recommended that City Council accept the Park Picnic Shelters Project as complete and authorize final payment to Johnson Building Co., LLC in the amount of $5,634.  Funding is available in Park Shelters-New Construction (Sunrise Park) (#050-9830-452.61-01) (PR0024).
