CONSIDERATION OF FINAL ACCEPTANCE AND FINAL PAYMENT OF CONTRACT NO. K-1213-151 WITH AZTEC BUILDINGS SYSTEMS, INC., FOR THE REAVES PARK SOFTBALL BUILDING REPLACEMENT PROJECT.

BACKGROUND: On January 22, 2013, City Council approved Request for Proposal No. RFP-1213-56 for the Reaves Park Softball Building Replacement Project. Included in this project was the demolition of the existing concession and restroom building built in 1981 which was in very poor condition. Repairs and upgrades were not cost efficient and the facility did not comply with ADA requirements. Additionally, the concession area could not meet current health department standards for sinks, fixtures, ventilation, and floor space.
Contract No. K-1213-151 was awarded to Aztec Building Systems, Inc., in the amount of $155,989.
DISCUSSION: On September 30, 2013, staff inspected the new Reaves Park Softball Building Project and found it to be complete as per specifications. One partial payment was made during the duration of the project.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that City Council accept the Reaves Park Softball Building Project as complete and authorize final payment in the amount of $15,598.50 to Aztec Building Systems, Inc Funding is available in Reaves Park Softball Building Replacement (#050-9205-452.6101) (PR0127)
