CONSIDERATION OF GRANT OF EASEMENT E-1718-10 TO OKLAHOMA GAS AND ELECTRIC FOR THE PURPOSE OF INSTALLING UNDERGROUND ELECTRICAL SERVICE IN WESTWOOD PARK.

BACKGROUND: On September 27,2016, The Norman Municipal Authority approved Contract K-1617-56 with W. L. McNatt & Company for the construction of the Westwood Family Aquatic Center. Construction of the Westwood Family Aquatic Center began in October 2016 and has steadily progressed since that time.
The Parks and Recreation Department has been contacted by Oklahoma Gas and Electric Services (OG&E) requesting a Grant of Easement for the purpose of installing underground electrical service for the Westwood Family Aquatic Center.
The new service line will cross part of one fairway on the golf course as described in Exhibit “A” and shown on Exhibit “B” of Easement E-1718-10, copies of which are attached.
DISCUSSION: OG&E has prepared the necessary documentation for the Grant of Easement. Park, Planning and Public Works staff have reviewed the proposed location and determined that the granting of this easement will not interfere with any current or planned future development of the park or adjacent streets.
Attached are OG&E’s Easement request letter, Easement E-1718-10 and Job Identifier drawing.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that City Council approve Easement E-1718-10, a Grant of Easement to OG&E.
