CONSIDERATION OF FINAL ACCEPTANCE AND FINAL PAYMENT OF CONTRACT NO. K-1314-47 WITH STANDARD ROOFING COMPANY, INC., FOR THE FYE 2014 ROOF REPLACEMENT PROJECTS FOR MUNICIPAL ADMINISTRATION BUILDING-201 (FLAT PORTIONS), MUNICIPAL BUILDING B, AND THE WATER RECLAMATION FACILITY PAINT SHOP AND CHLORINE BUILDING.

BACKGROUND: The City Council and the Norman Utilities Authority, in their meeting of January 14, 2014, approved Contract No. K-1314-47 with Standard Roofing Company, Inc., in the amount of $677,842 for the replacement of the roofs on the flat portions of the Municipal Administration Building, the entire roof on Municipal Building B, and the roofs on both the Water Reclamation Paint Shop and Chlorine Building located at 3500 South Jenkins.
DISCUSSION: Upon formal acceptance of the projects, the contractor will provide a two-year maintenance warranty on the installation and the manufacturer will provide a 20-year warranty on materials for Building B and the Water Reclamation Facility roofs. Inspection of the roofs will be conducted by the manufacturer the second, fifth, tenth, and fifteenth year of the warranties and an executive summary of those findings will be provided to the City. The contractor will provide a two-year maintenance warranty on the installation and the manufacturer will provide 15-year warranty on materials for the white single ply roofs at the Municipal Building-201. The manufacturer will perform all maintenance and repairs required during the warranty period as well as respond to any leakage, within 48 hours.
