SUBMISSION AND ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF WATER LINE PERMIT WL000014170426 BY THE OKLAHOMA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY (ODEQ) FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE CHAUTAUQUA AVENUE WATER LINE REPLACEMENT PROJECT AND DIRECTING THE FILING THEREOF.

BACKGROUND: On January 12, 2017 the Norman Utilities Authority (NUA) approved Contract K-1617-93 authorizing Poe and Associates to proceed with survey, design, and construction management services for the Segment D Waterline Project, Phase 4, aka Chautauqua Avenue Waterline. The first phase of this project extends along Chautauqua Avenue from Lindsey Street to Timberdell Lane. It consists of installing 2,600 linear feet (LF) of 24-inch water line under the southbound lane of Chautauqua Avenue.
DISCUSSION: Staff submitted the design plans and specifications for the Chautauqua Waterline Project to the Department of Environmental Quality on May 31, 2017 and the DEQ approved the design plans on June 28, 2017. As noted on the attached permit, the DEQ requires permit receipt to be noted and made a matter of permanent record in the NUA’s minutes.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that receipt of DEQ Permit No. WL000014170426 for the Chautauqua Waterline Project issued June 28, 2017 be noted and made a matter of permanent record in the NUA’s minutes.
