FINAL ACCEPTANCE AND FINAL PAYMENT OF CONTRACT K-1516-131 BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF NORMAN, OKLAHOMA, AND QUICKSILVER CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR THE LITTLE AXE COMMUNITY CENTER CHLORINATION SYSTEM PROJECT.

BACKGROUND: On 28 April 2016, City Council approved RFP 1516-53 for the Little Axe Community Center Chlorination Project. This project was for the construction of a new well house, and installation of a new chlorination system that provides water to the Community Center, Fire Station, and Sports Park.
DISCUSSION: The Little Axe Community Center Chlorination System Project was awarded to Quicksilver Construction Company in the amount of $75,615. Two Partial payments were made during the construction process.
On 29 March 2017, City of Norman Parks and Recreation staff along with the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality inspected the new well house and chlorination system and found it to be complete as per specifications.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that City Council accept the Little Axe Community Center Chlorination System Project as complete, and authorize final payment as follows in the amount of $3,780.75 to Quicksilver Construction Company. Funding is available in Little Axe Improvements, Construction (account 050-9922-452.61-01; project PR0123).
