Title
DECLARATION OF SURPLUS AND/OR OBSOLETE EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS AND AUTHORIZING THE SALE THEREOF.

Body
BACKGROUND:  From time to time, City of Norman equipment and materials become either obsolete or unnecessary.  When this occurs, Staff prepares a list of such items and, pursuant to Chapter, Section 8-301 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Norman, requests City Council declare those items surplus or obsolete.  According to Section 8-301, this must be done before such items, valued in excess of $1,000, can be sold.

DISCUSSION:  Attached to this item, is an itemized list of supplies, materials, and equipment that have been identified as surplus or obsolete.  If City Council declares such items as surplus or obsolete, Staff will release the items to the auction companies on contract with the City of Norman to be sold at auction.

RECOMMENDATION:  It is recommended that the attached list of supplies, materials, or equipment be declared surplus or obsolete, and approved for sale at public auction.
