CONSIDERATION OF FINAL ACCEPTANCE AND FINAL PAYMENT OF CONTRACT NO. K-1213-76 WITH STANDARD ROOFING COMPANY, INC., FOR THE FYE 2013 ROOF REPLACEMENT PROJECT FOR FIRE STATION NO. 6, FIRE STATION NO. 7 (TRUCK BAY), IRVING RECREATION CENTER (UPPER GYM), MUNICIPAL BUILDING A, SANTA FE DEPOT (FLAT PORTIONS), SOONER THEATRE, AND THE WATER RECLAMATION FACILITY MAIN CONTROL BUILDING (UPPER ROOF).

BACKGROUND: The City Council and the Norman Utilities Authority, in their meeting of October 8, 2012, approved Contract K-1213-76 with Standard Roofing Company, Inc., in the amount of $966,302 for the replacement of the roofs on Fire Station No. 6 located at 7405 East Alameda; Fire Station No. 7 (Truck Bay) located at 2207 Goddard Avenue; Irving Recreation Center (Upper Gym) located at 125 Vicksburg; Municipal Building A located at 201 West Gray; Santa Fe Depot (Flat Portions) located at 200 South Jones; Sooner Theatre located at 101 East Main; and the Water Reclamation Facility Main Control Building (Upper Roof) located at 3500 South Jenkins.
DISCUSSION: The roof at Fire Station No. 6 was completed in early January and final inspection was made on January 17, 2013. The roofs at Sooner Theatre, Santa Fe Depot, Building A, and Main Control Building at the Water Reclamation Facility were completed in late February early March and final inspections were made on March 15, 2013. The roof at Fire Station No. 7 was completed in early May and final inspection was made on May 14, 2013. The roof at Irving Recreation Center was completed in late June and final inspection was made on July 5, 2013. The work on all roofs meets or exceeds all bid specifications.
Upon formal acceptance of the projects, the contractor will provide a two-year maintenance warranty on the installation and the manufacturer will provide 20-year warranty on materials for Fire Station No. 6, Irving Recreation Center, Municipal Building A, Santa Fe Depot, and the Main Control Building at th...
