CONSIDERATION OF A FINAL PLAT FOR HIGHLAND VILLAGE ADDITION, SECTION 7, AND ACCEPTANCE OF PUBLIC DEDICATIONS CONTAINED THEREIN. (LOCATED ON THE NORTH SIDE OF HIGHLAND VILLAGE DRIVE WEST OF PORTER AVENUE).

BACKGROUND: This item is a final plat for Highland Village Addition, Section 7, and is generally located on the north side of Highland Village Drive approximately 1,600 feet west of North Porter Avenue. This property consists of 17.9 acres and forty (40) single-family residential lots. A common open space lot containing a storm water detention facility consists of 4.21 acres. There are ninety (90) single-family lots remaining undeveloped within the preliminary plat for Highland Village Addition.
City Council, at its meeting of March 13, 2001, adopted Ordinance No. O-0001-33 placing a portion of this property in R-1, Single Family Dwelling District, and removing it from A-2, Rural Agriculture District. City Council, at its meeting of September 28, 2004 adopted Ordinance No. O-0405-6 placing the remainder of this property in R-1, Single Family Dwelling District, and removing it from PUD, Planned Unit Development. City Council approved a revised preliminary plat at its meeting of February 23, 2010. Planning Commission, on November 8, 2012, approved the final plat for Highland Village Addition, Section 7.
DISCUSSION: Public improvements consist of water mains with fire hydrants, sanitary sewer, drainage, street and sidewalk improvements. Public improvements are near completion. Park land dedication requirements have been fulfilled.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: The final plat is consistent with the preliminary plat. Based upon the above information, Staff recommends that City Council approve the final plat, accept the public dedications contained therein and authorize the Mayor to sign the final plat and required bonds for Highland Village Addition, Section 7, subject to completion and the City Development Committee's acceptance of the public...
