CONSIDERATION OF THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,500 FROM WAL-MART STORES, INC., TO BE USED BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR WILDLAND URBAN INTERFACE ACTVITIES.

BACKGROUND: Section 8-111 of the City Code requires that the City Council accept all donations with a value in excess of $250 received by the City, prior to the use or disbursement of same. Therefore, it is requested that Council review and consider the following item for acceptance and use by the Norman Fire Department.
DISCUSSION: The Fire Department has received a donation of $1,500 from Wal-Mart to be used for Wildland Urban Interface and wildfire community outreach and education activities.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that City Council accept the donation of $1,500.00 from Wal-Mart to the Norman Fire Department and the money be deposited into Other: Fire Miscellaneous (account 010-0000-227.24-38).
