RESOLUTION NO. R-1213-105: A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORMAN, OKLAHOMA, CHANGING THE STREET NAME IN ST. JAMES PARK, SECTION 3, FROM LONGWOOD LANE TO EVERTON LANE.

BACKGROUND: The final plat for St. James Park, Section 3, was filed with the Cleveland County Clerk on March 11, 2005.
DISCUSSION: The applicants desire to change the name of LONGWOOD LANE to EVERTON LANE in St James Park, Section 3 which is located on 24th Avenue S.E. south of Highway 9. Longwood Lane is 210 feet in length from the centerline of the intersection with 24th Avenue S.E. to the centerline of the intersection with Langley Drive. One residential lot is platted and developed on the north side of Longwood Lane. The lot fronts Langley Drive and is addressed off of Langley Drive. The applicants/developers wish to use the street name Everton Lane in the future when final plats of St. James Park are submitted to extend Everton Lane to the east. Staff has checked the proposed street name and has determined there is no duplication within the city limits of Norman. The applicant will be responsible for paying the City to replace the street name signs.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Staff has reviewed the request and is not opposed to the street name change. Subject to approval by the City Council, Resolution No. R-1213-105 will be filed with the Cleveland County Clerk. The filed documents will be distributed to various agencies within the City. Maps and other documents that include the previous street name will be changed to reflect the new name.
