CONSIDERATION AND AWARDING OF BID NO. 1213-24 FOR THE PURCHASE OF GALVANIZED STEEL SIGN POSTS FOR THE TRAFFIC CONTROL DIVISION.
ACTION NEEDED: Motion to accept or reject all bids meeting specifications; and, if accepted, award the bid for all sections to Custom Products, Inc. as the lowest and best bidder meeting specifications.

BACKGROUND: The City of Norman's Traffic Control Division utilizes galvanized steel posts, sign faces, and aluminum materials for the manufacturing of street signs.
DISCUSSION: Every year, the City of Norman enters into several supply agreements for the materials needed in our signing operations. Under these agreements, we purchase operating equipment and supplies as they are needed. Bid No. 1213-24 Galvanized Steel Sign Posts was opened on September 6, 2012. Bid packets were sent to four (4) vendors including:
Custom Products Corp - (Jackson, MS)
Centerline Supply, LTD (Grand Prairie, TX),
Time Striping, Inc (Sallisaw, OK),
Xcessories Squared Dev & Mfg, Inc (Auburn, IL)
Three vendors responded with a bid with the lowest and best bid from Custom Products Corporation out of Jackson, Mississippi. There was no response from Time Striping, Inc. out of Sallisaw, OK.
The budget for this particular item, Bid No. 1213-24 (All Sections), is in the Traffic Sign Materials Account No. 010-5023-429.32-13, with a budget amount of $44,480.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that Bid No. 1213-24 be awarded to Custom Products, Inc. for all sections.
