FINAL ACCEPTANCE AND FINAL PAYMENT OF CONTRACT K-1617-104 BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF NORMAN, OKLAHOMA, AND PLAYWELL GROUP/PLAYWORKS, INC FOR THE HIGHLAND VILLAGE PARK PLAYGROUND PROJECT.

BACKGROUND: On 14 February 2017, City Council approved RFP Number 1617-33 for the Highland Village Park Playground Project. Included in this project was the installation of new playground equipment and synthetic turf safety surfacing with a shade structure over the playground unit.
DISCUSSION: On March 14, 2017 the Highland Village Park Playground Project was awarded to PlayWell Group/PlayWorks, Inc., in the amount of $120,000. One partial payment was made during the construction process.
On 29 September 2017, City of Norman Parks and Recreation Staff inspected the new playground and found it to be complete as per specifications.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that City Council accept the Highland Village Park Playground Project as complete and authorize final payment in the amount of $54,393 to Playwell Group/PlayWorks Inc. Funding is available in Highland Village Park Project, Construction (account 050-9738-452.61-01; project PR0128) and Neighborhood Park Improvements Project, Construction (account 052-7042-452.61-01; project PR0128).
