BACKGROUND: The Capital Budget includes a Building Lighting Replacement Project in the amount of $898,000 for the replacement of light fixtures for the following City facilities:

DISCUSSION: This contract is for the Library Lighting Replacement Project. The project will replace approximately 900 T12 light fixtures with T8 fixtures. The T12 fixtures are no longer being manufactured. Additionally, the T8 fixtures use one third less energy resulting in lower electric costs.
Plans and specifications for the project were prepared by Architects in Partnership working with Flynt and Kallenberger, Inc., (Electrical Engineers). The Bid was advertised in the Norman Transcript on September 27, 2012, and bid information and specifications were also placed on file for public inspection at F.W. Dodge Room, Southwestern Construction News, Bid News Report, Triangle A&E, and Architects in Partnership. A mandatory pre-bid conference was held on October 9, 2012. Bids were opened on October 18, 2012, and four bids were received.
