BACKGROUND:  On 22 March 2016, City Council approved Contract K-1516-120 with Waggoners Mechanical Services, LLC in the amount of $143,121 for the installation of “cool air-only” systems to be installed in the gymnasiums at Whittier, Irving and 12^th Avenue Recreation Centers.  These gymnasiums already had existing heating systems.

DISCUSSION:  On 31 October 2016, staff did final inspections to each facility, found them complete as per specifications and recommended authorizing final payment.   Partial payments were made throughout the project.

RECOMMENDATION:  It is recommended that City Council accept the Recreation Center Gymnasium Air Conditioning Project as complete and authorize final payment in the amount of $26,647.86 to Waggoners Mechanical Services, LLC.  Funding is available in the Room Tax Fund, Recreation Center Gym Air Conditioning Project, Construction (account 023-9321-451.6101; project RT0079).
