FINAL ACCEPTANCE AND FINAL PAYMENT OF CONTRACT NO. K-1314-123 BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF NORMAN, OKLAHOMA, AND FREDGREN QUALITY WORKS FOR THE HISTORICAL MUSEUM CARRIAGE HOUSE RENOVATION PROJECT.

BACKGROUND: On 11 March 2014, City Council approved Contract No. K-1314-123 for the Historical Museum Carriage House Renovation Project. This project included remodeling the Carriage House interior in order to create a meeting space and an ADA-accessible restroom facility at the Museum. The project was awarded to Fredgren Quality Works in the amount of $48,900.
DISCUSSION: On 27 March 2014, a change order in the amount of $1,650 was approved by the City Manager. Structural repairs were necessary to correct damage caused by past termite infestation which was not discovered until demolition. On 2 June 2014, Parks and Recreation staff inspected the Carriage House Renovation Project, found it to be complete as per specifications and recommends authorizing final payment. Partial payments were made as the project progressed to completion.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that City Council accept the Carriage House Renovation Project as complete and authorize final payment in the amount of $2,500. Funding is available in Project No. EF0123, Historical Museum - Carriage House Renovation Project, Construction, (050-9677-419.6101).
