Title
CONSIDERATION OF A RECOMMENDATION FROM THE REAPPORTIONMENT COMMISSION THAT THE CITY COUNCIL NOT ADJUST THE WARD BOUNDARIES AT THIS TIME.

Body
BACKGROUND:  Norman's Charter requires that the Reapportionment Commission meet annually to review population estimates, and make a recommendation to the City Council whether to begin the process of adjusting Norman's ward boundaries.

DISCUSSION:  At their required annual meeting on July 8, 2013, the Reapportionment Commission convened and elected officers.  After reviewing population estimates prepared by staff, the Commission recommended that no changes be made to the Ward boundaries because the population figures look good as they currently stand.  A copy of the minutes of the meeting is attached.

RECOMMENDATION:  By unanimous vote, the Reapportionment Commission recommends that no reapportionment of the City's Ward system take place at this time.
