CONSIDERATION OF GRANTING EASEMENT E-1718-42 TO OKLAHOMA GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING ELECTRIC SERVICE TO NORMAN PUBLIC LIBRARY EAST.

BACKGROUND: Construction began on Norman Public Library East in the Spring 2017, and as construction has progressed, a permanent transformer pad and associated electric service are now needed during the current construction phase.
DISCUSSION: OG&E has requested that the City of Norman grant an easement for service to a pad mount transformer to provide electric service to Norman Public Library East so that OG&E can enter the site and perform any needed future maintenance. OG&E has prepared the necessary documentation to request the easement. The location of the request is delineated on the attached documents. The requested easement is for a 10 foot wide by approximately 271 foot long area that crosses a part of Library site to the south. The south end of this easement will connect to the existing OG&E service to the transformer. The requested easement will not interfere with any current or planned future development at the Library.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends Easement E-1718-42 be granted to Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company and authorize execution of the agreement.
