CONSIDERATION OF GRANT OF EASEMENT NO. E-1314-18 TO OKLAHOMA GAS AND ELECTRIC FOR THE PURPOSE OF INSTALLING UNDERGROUND ELECTRICAL SERVICE IN LEGACY PARK.

BACKGROUND: On January 22, 2013, City Council, acting as the Norman Tax Increment Finance Authority (NTIFA), approved Contract No. K-1213-67, with CGC, LLC for the construction of Legacy Park in the University North Park TIF District. Construction of Legacy Park began in March 2013, and has steadily progressed since that time.
The Parks and Recreation Department has been contacted by Oklahoma Gas and Electric Services (OG&E) requesting a Grant of Easement for the purpose of installing underground electrical service in Legacy Park.
The new service line will be installed within Legacy Park as described in Exhibit "A" and shown on Exhibit "B" of Easement No. E-1314-18, copies of which are attached.
DISCUSSION: OG&E has prepared the necessary documentation for the Grant of Easement. Park, Planning and Public Works staff have reviewed the proposed location and determined that the granting of this easement will not interfere with any current or planned future development of the park or adjacent streets.
Attached is OG&E's Easement request letter, Easement No. E-1314-18 and Job Identifier drawing.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that City Council approve Easement No. E-1314-18, a Grant of Easement to OG&E.
